PFW Fall 2018: Day 1

Anthony and I landed in Paris late afternoon and we rushed to our hotel as I had a few meetings and one presentation later that night. However, my first full day didn't really start until yesterday.

We stopped for dinner at Veramente, it is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Paris and I had their amazing truffle pasta. I had a great first (but cold day) thermals and turtlenecks under my looks will be key this week.

Check out everything I did day 1 below:

Roger Vivier Presentation:

Right after my landed in Paris we rushed back to the hotel so I could attend my first presentation of Paris Fashion Week, Roger Vivier. To the presentation I wore this fun ALIX The Label Animal Blazer + Pants.

As you know, I'm a huge fan of the brand and love their handbags + shoes. I was excited to see what this presentation had in store because it was Bruno Frisoni's last collection designing under Roger Vivier. He revived the French brand and made it a red carpet go-to!

Bruno's final presentation was  inspired by Morocco-meets-Baroque. Many of the pieces had embroidered and braided details. Herringbone was a print used throughout the collection and mixed with a leopard/lip kiss pattern. Many of the evening wear shoes were fully embellished with jewels, including the the brand’s iconic pilgrim buckle. The collection had some many amazing pieces that I'm dying the style.

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Sporty Viv Etiquette Sneaker

2. Viv Cabas Mini Striped Top-Handle Bag

3. Metallic Canvas Slides

What I Wore:

To start the day, I opted for a more comfortable look because Lacoste is known for their everyday wardrobe, wearable pieces! It was pretty cold outside, so the key was to layer layer layer.

Sunglasses: GENTLE MONSTER (sold out, similar here)

Turtleneck: ALICE + OLIVIA

Sweater: SONIA RYKIEL

Skirt: GUCCI via What Goes Around Comes Around

Shoes: SENSO

Handbag: ZAC ZAC POSEN

Check out some similar oversized statement sweaters you can lay over skirts/dresses below:

Lacoste Runway:

My first show of the day was Lacoste. The brand always has really cool themed shows, so I was excited to attend this season. Athleisure was a huge trend on the runway and the show was held outside and included a putting green. The set-up of the show was inspired by a tree planting project at the Chantaco golf course.

Golf balls, leaves and putting greens were on many sweatshirts and sweaters. I loved the windbreakers, argyle prints, bucket hats and velvet quilted hoodies. One of my favorite pieces in the collection was an argyle knit sweater dress!

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Straightset Strap Shoe

2. Panel Leather Jacket

3. Peplum Colored Bands Sweater

Aquazzura Presentation:

Next, I headed to the Aquazzura presentation. The collection was inspired by female empowerment in the ’70s and ’80s in Paris and what it means to be a strong woman. I loved the disco vibe of the presentation.

The knee-high boot was a standout silhouette within the collection. I loved the glitter thigh-high boots and crystal embellished ankle boots. The presentation was so fun and reminded me of ’80s couture.

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Powder Puff Pompom Satin Slippers

2. Embellished Metallic Slingback Pumps

3. Tasseled Satin Pumps

Lanvin Show:

My second show of the day was Lanvin. The inspiration behind this collection was “urban evenings”, and the energy of today's woman.

I loved all the luxurious silk, organza and cashmere fabrics used throughout. The pieces were a combination of street-style mixed with elegance. I loved all the knitwear pieces and large down coats! The collection had an unusual mix of pieces but everything coincided together.

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Trapeze Small Tote Bag

2. Floral & Striped Satin Kimono Jacket

3. Oversized Cardigan

Unravel Runway:

My next show of the day was Unravel. I love Ben Taverniti’s Unravel collection because he creates such cool streetwear staples! The collection was inspired by someone moving from LA back to Paris. I loved the cut off sweatshirt hoods, draped jersey dresses and puffers and bombers mixed with sweatshirts. So many of the pieces were unique and very wearable.

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Oversized Frayed Sweater

2. Lace-Up Pants

3. Paneled Checked Top

Dior Re-See:

I headed to the Dior re-see next. The was one of my favorite presentations of the day.

The theme of the collection was the 1960s feminist spirit. There were so many political statement pieces all inspired by the youth of the 60's. Some of my favorite pieces included the return of gavroche caps (a french cap), thigh high boots, clogs and patchwork! Not to mention, I was obsessed with the saddle bags, so chic!

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Diorevolution Handbag

2. Wildior Low Boot

3. “Judgement” Tarot Bustier Gown

Rochas Runway:

My next show of the day was Rochas. This season, designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua focused on day clothes. I loved the retro aesthetic to the collection, including exaggerated collars and textures/colors (especially the camel and yellows).

I loved how many of the pieces were paired with snakeskin knee-high boots with glitter heels. The collection was so charming and I loved the romantic dresses and delicate blouses. I was obsessed with many of the double-breasted jackets.

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Ruffle-trimmed Silk Dress

2. Floral Brocade Pumps

3. Logo Bag

What I Wore:

To the Rochas show I wore this Rochas yellow and black floral dress. I loved the darker floral print and to make the look more edgy and winter appropriate I paired it will this quilted patent Chanel jacket.

Earrings: ZARA

Sunglasses: GENTLE MONSTER (sold out, similar here)

Dress: ROCHAS

Coat: CHANEL via What Goes Around Comes Around

Handbag: KENZO

Check out some similar floral dresses and patent quilted coats below:

Kenzo Show:

My final show of the day was Kenzo! The show was really cool because it was a dinner/runway show. The show was centered around a grand banquet which included delicious bites and even the center pieces were edible- it was very botanical inspired.

The first few models walked out in rainforest costumes, the collection was inspired by Henri Rousseau’s The Dream painting. Some of my favorite pieces in the collection included tropical knits and embroidered dresses. It was an amazing vibrant and colorful filled show.

The collection won't be available until Fall 2018 but check out a few of my favorite pieces that are out now:

1. Embroidered Sweatshirt

2. Canvas Pouch

3. Sweater Dress

What I Wore:

To the Kenzo show, I wore a full Kenzo look. It was such a fun look to wear, I was so obsessed with the boots!

Turtleneck: ALICE + OLIVIA

Coat: KENZO (not available, similar here)

Jeans: RE/DONE

Boots: KENZO

Handbag: KENZO
