Anthony and I arrived to New York early yesterday morning! We are staying at Hotel 50 Bowery for the duration of our trip. During NYFW, I like to stay near SoHo because so many shows/presentations are generally in that area. It makes getting around super easy, especially since there is so much traffic in NY!
I'll be sharing a recap of what I did each day during NYFW. The recaps will include key trends, shows, presentations and events I attended and outfits I wore. NYFW is always so inspiring and gets me excited to incorporate new colors/trends into my wardrobe for the upcoming season!
The night before we left for NY, I attended the Rachel Zoe presentation at Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood. It was an intimate dinner at the hotel's penthouse with the show following. This is the second time that Rachel Zoe presented her collection in Los Angeles.
The collection was designed with many of Rachel's close friends in mind and the cool, laid back California lifestyle. She even debuted her new bridal collection as well! I loved the bohemian inspired wedding dresses. All the dresses were loose fitting with very effortless but still chic vibes.
Check out a few of my favorite current Rachel Zoe pieces:
– Rocco High-Neck Twill Mini Dress (I wore this dress to the presentation)
After we got settled at our hotel, I quickly got ready and attended the REDValentino and M Missoni preview. I'm a huge fan of both brands as they are each the little sister line to Valentino and Missoni. REDValentino and M Missoni have a modern twist on the parent brand's aesthetic. Both brands have a fresh and contemporary vibe. I loved all the fun patterns REDValentino had in their Spring 2018 collection. The paisley print was a favorite of mine :)
My favorite current REDValentino and M Missoni pieces include:
We then went to our first presentation of the day, Cinq à Sept! The french name translates to “five to seven”- aka celebration-filled early evening hours. Their clothes represent just that and I love their feminine yet edgy pieces.
The collection this season was inspired by traveling performers wandering through Italy in the 1900's. The collection itself, had a very whimsical/magical feel to it. The lace trims and pinstripes were some of my favorite details.
I am loving the below pieces from their current collection:
The first runway show of the day was Creatures of Comfort. Their brand is simple yet incorporates stylish details to each garment. The line has a playful and unique aesthetic!
The Spring Summer 2018 collection was influenced by the hardworking and leisurely ease of the South of France. I liked the washed out color palette with contrasting colors. The pops of yellow were my favorite! The collection incorporated breezy dresses and linen suiting. I loved all the feminine details!
Although this collection won't be debuting until spring, check out a few of my favorite pieces from the current season:
During Fashion Week, Refinery29 puts on a really cool event called 29 Rooms. The event takes place in Brooklyn and is basically a warehouse-turned-funhouse with just like it's name, offers 29 rooms! Brands and artists each take over a different room and create their own art installation. This year's overall theme was “Turn It Into Art.”
I got the opportunity to partner with Aldo for the event. The theme of Aldo's installation was Love Walk. They had this really cool, all red catwalk . Aldo dressed me for the event and I wore these red over the knee boots (HERE). They matched the installation perfectly, but I also loved what a statement they made!
The Interview & Lexus September Issue party was the final event of the night. The party was held at the Milk Building near Chelsea. The party had a very upbeat vibe with really cool lighting throughout! Kim Kardashian is on the cover of the September issue and you can find a link to it HERE
Stay tuned for tomorrow's post on Day two!
