NYFW Day 2: Despite the cold

The second day of NYFW wasn't snowing like it had the day before but it sure was cold! This was probably the coldest it was all week while I was there so I had to make a few last minute adjustments to my outfits to make sure I wouldn't freeze! Anthony on the other-hand wore a light jacket and mid-way through the day we had to go buy a down jacket from Bloomingdale's because he couldn't take it anymore! lol men. Anyways- despite the cold, this was a busy and very fun day- here is what I did:

Cinq à Sept

The Cinq à Sept Fall presentation was held at Le Coucou and they served light bites as the models walked through the restaurant.

Cinq à Sept is translated to mean “from 5-7pm” so as you can imagine, the brand features pieces that are usually perfect for day to night wear. This collection was all about the details! Beaded floral swing dresses and intricately embroidered denim leggings, silk prints, jacquard textures, and velvet trims are reminiscent of the femininity of the 1940’s while oversized patchwork chunky knits and a cutoff sweatshirt bring elements of 90’s grunge. I really loved the entire collection and the experience of the presentation!

This is a look I wore to the Cinq à Sept presentation that kept me warm and comfortable on a chilly NY morning!

Chloé Fitting

Next I stopped at the Chloé offices for a fitting. Chloé is one of my favorite designer brands by far and my first ever designer bag I purchased was a Chloé Faye :) The fitting room is filled with racks of Chloé and See by Chloé pieces and I selected looks for the week. I'm loving the mini bags they have new for the season, and the silk dresses were so amazing- I picked out one with gorgeous florals (as seen on me to the right).

Here are a few of my favorite pieces I saw at the fitting:

Mini Faye Leather

Leather Loafers

Tweed Coat (as seen on me HERE)

Kate Spade New York : Spring 2017 Fashion Presentation
Kate Spade

The Kate Spade presentation was held at The Russian Tea Room and was showing the Spring and Fall collections, which was so refreshing to see both seasons at one presentation! It seems more and more brands are following the idea of showing the current season.

The main trends I noticed for Spring: tassel details on the clothing and basket handbags. Fall featured leopard, darker florals and velvet but still had a sophisticated look like Kate Spade always does so well.

I really loved the Milly runway show and it got me energized for the remainder of the day. The music was to Missy Elliot “I'm Better” and the collection was a perfect mix of masculine tailoring and feminine frills/sequins. Oversized sleeves and shirts were paired with skirts or shorts. Smart contradictions were very relevant in this collection, i.e pairing an oversized sweater with a sequin slip dress, or leather trousers with a flouncy blouse. I loved it all and could picture wearing every piece!

MILLY Street Style

This is the look I wore to the Milly show- my boots were perfect for trudging through the ice and slush and my coat was even warmer than it looks! I also saw my friend Paola from Blank Itinerary after the show, she's a new mama-to-be and of course we were trying to keep her baby bump warm in between shows! :)

Club Monaco

Club Monaco‘s presentation was a see-now-buy-now Spring collection held at their store. The venue was set up with gorgeous flowers falling from the wall and ceiling- I couldn't help but wish I had that decor for my wedding- it was very dreamy! The collection fit just as well, flowing florals and crisp white pieces for Spring were featured throughout.
