5 Travel Essentials for Cold Weather

Happy Fridayyy! NYFW daily recaps will begin tomorrow on here- so don't forget to check back Saturday and Sunday for new posts :)

Well I finally landed in NY in the midst of a snow storm! Luckily there were so many warnings beforehand so I definitely packed warm for this trip. Here are 5 essentials for cold weather (or in my case in NY, freezing weather):

1: Moisturizer: This is hugely important in the drying weather. I've been loving the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream for the daytime and the La Mer Renewal Oil and Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich for night.

2. Faux Fur Coat: This always adds statement to an outfit while still keeping warm, a few of my favorites at the moment are from Topshop, Storets and Elizabeth and James.

3. Tights: Especially for NYFW, tights will keep me dressy but still layered. Pair with a skirt or under your jeans if you want them to peep out like socks with ankle boots. I really like the ones from Nordstrom.

4. Lip Balm: Just as moisturizing your face is important, don't forget about your lips! Dry, cracked lips are the worst- so prevent it with a balm before you apply your lipstick. I like Glossier Balm Dotcom or Rosebud Salve. Also a lip scrub is great for removing any dry skin before you moisturize. I use the Fresh Sugar Lip Polish.

5. Scarf: I usually opt for a larger scarf because I can wrap it around face if the wind starts picking up, overall- oversized scarves just are more cozy and look great draped or wrapped. My favorites are from Zara and Rag & Bone.

Hope this helps you when packing for your next cold weather getaway! Any essentials I missed? Comment below!

xx Brittany

These are all great must haves! So many people forget to focus on moisturizer. I think it is actually one of the most important things to remember with all this freezing weather!

That moment when I realise it’s so cold where I live that those are my essentials for everyday life haha

Living in cold weather all the time (Canada) I can attest that these are all essentials. Love this post! Except maybe the fur coat… the problem is that if it’s snowing (or if like in Toronto and NY it doesn’t so much snow, as slush falls from the sky) then the fur gets all chunky and matted. Not exactly cute. Although it’s hard to find a coat that’s practical and cute to survive that kind of weather.

Fur coats are super cosy! I almost forgot about my fur coat which I got last year but took out to wear again. Also appreciate all the beauty suggestions but I have to say most of this is way out of my price range. But I am so tempted ot try the Charlotte Tilbury cream since I have heard so much about it!

Scarfs are so essential for any cooler weather, my favorite is the Circle Scarfs from AA. I can use it as a blanket on the plane too!
