Even though I love wearing color, sometimes there is nothing chicer than an all black outfit! When you feel like you have nothing to wear (especially as we get into the cooler months), try keeping your look monochrome. The color black is always very flattering and timeless, regardless of your shape, size or age. With the shade, you can easily make your outfit very feminine with skirts and silky blouses, or more edgy with ripped black jeans and an oversized sweater. By adding different textures, layers and shapes you can easily make any all-black outfit stand out.

For this particular monochrome look, I was really feeling the power suit trend for Fall. I liked that the embroidery on the jacket and brown pinstripes added a bit of color, so my outfit didn’t look too formal. I even added an additional pop of color with my handbag. I love high waisted, wide-leg trousers- they can easily go from day-to-night and are a closet staple of mine! Finding the right fit of wide-leg trousers can be tricky, it’s important to make sure they don’t appear slouchy or boxy. When choosing my jacket to pair with the outfit, I liked how the long-line blazer looked. It lengthened my torso the same way that the trousers elongated my legs. Because wide-leg trousers can run long, I wore a pair of heels- you want to make sure the hem sweeps the top of the shoe.
