If I had to pick one accessory, shoes are definitely my favorite item. They have a way of speaking my mood and really defining my style. In fact, the first thing I noticed when I met Anthony for the first time… was his shoes LOL I could tell he was a laid-back cool guy from his slightly worn white sneakers. Maybe that was wrong of me to jump to conclusions based on his shoes, but as I got to know him- his personality was actually like his shoes- laid back, cool andddd he wore those white sneakers every date, so cute! We still joke about his white kicks that stole my heart :)
I think that is so true that you feel a bit more confident when you have shoes on that really feel like you… and when you’re comfortable in your shoes you’re also more ready to take on the day rather than worrying about blisters, discomfort, etc. When I worked in an office (before I was blogging) the dress code was slacks and the main thing I could wear that would be my own style was my shoes- I remember changing up my outfits simply by what color/style shoe I was wearing that day- during that time, getting a new pair of shoes was like getting a whole new office workwear outfit :)
As blogging as my full-time job now, I have the freedom to wear whatever I choose and yet still I turn to shoes to define my style most of all. In this case I opted for blue velvet booties via DSW, I’m literally obsessed with velvet shoes at the moment and these really jumped out at me.
DSW is also a great place if you’re shopping for shoes for the whole family, the men and kid’s section offers just as much variety as the women’s and the prices are literally on point too!
